Community Outreach

Munyamadzi is dedicated to community outreach and uplift within the Luembe Chiefdom, within which the Reserve is located.  On top of employing 30 staff from the Chiefdom, we

  • Sponsor the salaries of three teachers at the Mulamba Community School

  • Built a three-classroom block and new toilets at Ambo Basic School

  • Sponsor various community events, including public meetings and celebrations

  • Provide human-animal conflict resolution

We have also provided materials and funding to build a new Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) office in Nyimba, the nearest town.  We provide in-kind support to the DNPW and Community scouts in our Area Management Unit.

Our business model of multiple revenue streams allows for community support projects that tourism alone would not be able to finance.

Get involved

If you would like to help us increase our impact in the communities, please consider donating to our community project.  Below are the requests we have had from the community in the past year, in order of priority:

  • Sponsor a teacher's house: $15,000

  • Sponsor a 3-room classroom block: $90,000

  • Sponsor a pupil at Nyimba Secondary boarding school for: one year $450, one term $150

  • Sponsor a pupil at a day secondary school for: one year $70, one term $23

  • Sponsor a borehole and hand-pump for clean drinking water: $4,000

If you are interested in supporting other projects (e.g. refurbishing Rural Health Centres, buying new mattresses for boarding schools, manufacturing of washable sanitary panties for girls, etc) please contact us.
