Munyamadzi Camp can take up to 10 guests in our 5 chalets spread out under beautiful tall trees and all facing the Luangwa River.  All rooms are made using locally sourced, natural products and aim to incorporate comfort with an authentic safari feel.

Please note that camp is not open between December and May, inclusive, due to inaccessibility.

'Honeymoon Suite'

A raised wooden deck with canvas panelling and thatch roof, private veranda and open front facing the Luangwa River, this is the definition of luxury in the simplest form.  The en-suite bathroom, under the shade of a Natal Mahogany tree, has running hot water and a hand-carved wooden basin made on site.  This room can be arranged with a king size bed or with two single beds.  Additional beds can be added for family groups.

Classic safari-style rondavels made from locally baked bricks with thatch roofs, they are en-suite with their own 'donkey boiler' for hot running water. Large windows offer you the chance to enjoy you coffee in bed and gaze over the Luangwa River towards the Bulonga Hills.  These can be arranged with queen size or two single beds. An additional bed can be added for families.

Thatch Chalets

Made from locally cut grass, these thatch chalets offer a more rustic, very basic accommodation with a shared bathroom.  They are placed on the other side of camp to the other chalets to offer guests a more secluded, natural experience with large windows overlooking the Luangwa River.  They can be arranged with a queen size or two single beds comfortably, or can sleep three or four for family groups.

Camp features

In the centre of the camp is the shared lounge-dining-bar area with a fire pit, plunge pool, barbecue and pizza oven to the side.  Evenings are spent by the fire watching the sunset over the Luangwa River with drinks and snacks.  Meals are prepared in our open wood fire kitchen using fresh vegetables from our garden and served in buffet style.

There is a fridge at the bar and we make ice using filtered borehole water in the ice machine.  The camp library has several field guides, including birds, snakes, butterflies, trees and mammals, conservation-related books and novels for you to enjoy.  All the furniture is made in camp by Emmanuel, Eddie and Thor using locally sourced materials.

We encourage our guests to "disconnect" when they are at Munyamadzi and, as such, we provide WiFi and a charging station in the lounge-dining-bar area.  All rooms have lights but no charging sockets and WiFi does not extend that far so you can enjoy the serenity of being in nature without the distractions of the modern world.
